Naseej Program - Community Youth Development Initiative - announced the launch of its new website (www.naseej-cyd.org).
The launch of the new website came as a result of the urgent need for an Arabic Resource Center for youth, youth workers and those who are interested in the Community Youth Development field in an interactive/non traditional way.
The Regional Chief of Party Mrs. Hania Aswad mentioned that the new website contains mainly three sections: the resource center for Community Youth Development in the Arab world, Naseej Program, Naseej channel and the different forums.
She also clarified that the resource center added a real qualitative value to the portal, as it includes names and addresses of local organizations, active youth groups in the Arab world and names of the International organizations and donors who are interested in the field of community youth development. It also includes links for useful resources regarding youth development written in both languages (Arabic & English), blogs, face book groups, other addresses that could be of benefit for workers in this field and youth policies in some Arab countries. Finally, the resource center contains announcements and news to highlight the opportunities available to youth in the Arab world.
Naseej’s website, which was launched after more than ten months of continuous work, is considered as an essential part of the program’s components and services that includes the financial grants, national and regional events, exchange, internships & apprenticeships, leveraging and advocacy to leverage support for, and interest in, CYD approaches in the region by increasing awareness and knowledge of the importance of the field, sharing results and encouraging partners to support similar initiatives
Mrs. Hania added that the website is open to all relevant organizations and individuals to add their information or Arab resources that they have written, as well as the films they have produced in an attempt to disseminate these productions to a wider audience in the Arab World (both institutions and individuals).
The website aims at increasing knowledge amongst the interested parties, and to provide Arab youth with the opportunity to exchange/share their experiences, opinions and ideas on issues that matters to them, and spreading the awareness about the concepts/approaches of youth community development in the Arab world as well as the best practices. Within this context, the new website also included several new sections like “reflection from the field", "Naseej channel" and "the forum" to give youth the freedom to express their work without interference, whether by uploading pictures and short films on the channel, or by writing success stories in their own words, or just give their opinion on the issues discussed on the forum.
